World Cup 2022: “lies”, “stabbing” … Belgium in full psychodrama

Third in the 2018 World Cup, second in the FIFA rankings in October 2022, led by the “best goalkeeper in the world”, Thibaut Courtois, and the third of the Golden Ball, Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium approached the 2022 World Cup with many strengths. But the machine jammed after only two games, between a sham victory against Canada (1-0) and a rout against Morocco (0-2). The Red Devils are on the edge of the precipice and the meeting against the Croatian vice-world champions on Thursday (4 p.m.) will seal their fate: a return to the flat country or a qualification for the round of 16 in Qatar.
