Violent assault at the Francs Borains youth club in Boussu: hooded individuals break windows and abuse children

Hooded individuals sowed a wind of panic on Saturday evening during a dinner organized at the Francs Borains youth club in Boussu. These attackers destroyed windows and broke furniture. They also abused children. A police investigation is open.

Opposite the party hall of the Francs Borains youth club, this Sunday morning we see a huge cobblestone on the ground right next to a window that miraculously held up. Shortly before midnight on Saturday evening, hooded assailants arrived on the scene, some with batons in hand.

For the president of the club, we escaped the worst. “If this window was not secured and this cobblestone had passed through, behind there was a 7-year-old girl”lance Sergio Armando. “Today, we would not have had the same facts. These are extremely serious facts and we are on an attempted murder, I’m sorry”, he adds.

“It was shocking, catastrophic”, confides a witness. For club members, it is difficult to come back to this attack this Sunday morning. Children were outside. They were just playing. Some have been abused. “They all got out of the car. They said, “Grab the kids.” Afterwards, there is one who took me by the hood, who tried to grab me and I kicked him to let me go”, says Livio, 11 years old. According to him, they were young people of 18-20 years old. “I saw them break that window, throw a cobblestone. They also tried to grab me and hit me”confirms Salvatore, 11 years old.

Soon, the police arrived on the scene in large numbers. During their escape, the attackers threw cobblestones at a coach full of players returning from a match. Violent scenes against young people. “The image that strikes me is all the crying children. There is a little girl and children who peed on themselves. We tried to reassure them because they were in total panic”, testifies the president of the club.

The track of ultra supporters of other clubs is mentioned for the moment. A complaint has been filed with the police. The mayor wants significant resources to be made available to find the attackers.
