Vigor Matelica looks for the first smile in the derby against Senigallia Basketball

The triptych of Marche derby for the Halley Matelica ends tomorrow afternoon (ball at two at 18 at PalaPanzini) with the almost unprecedented challenge on the field of Goldengas Senigallia. In fact, it is necessary to go back to the nineties to find crossroads, on the lower floors, between the two teams, which in any case got to know each other in the summer competing in a friendly match.
Surely the hosts arrive at the challenge in an excellent moment of form: the team of coach Paolo Filippetti, best defense of the group with only 68.2 points conceded per game, in fact comes from three consecutive victories and with 8 points in the ranking it sails serene in the medium-high levels of the ranking. A very different moment from what Halley is experiencing, still stuck at the post and therefore very hungry for points to erase the zero in the ranking.

The Senigallians are a solid team with well-defined hierarchies. The real general in the field, statistics aside (which say 6.5 points and 6.0 assists per game) is Marco Giacomini, captain and leader of Goldengas, the man who triggers the two main offensive terminals on the outside: the two ex Omegna Matteo Santucci (15.2 points with 60% from 2 and 5.0 rebounds in the evening) and Matteo Neri (11.7 points with 48% from 3 and 4.8 rebounds). Under the planks the lighthouse is Simone Pozzetti (13.3 points with 62% from 2 and 8.7 rebounds to lace up shoes), flanked alternately by Michael Lemmi (7.8 points with 60% from 2 and 4.8 rebounds) or by Emanuele Musci (7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game). Less space for the two red and white under rotation: the winger Matteo Cerruti (1.2 points per game) and Giacomini’s backup Luca Valle (0.8 points per game).
No ex on the Goldengas front, while there is one in the Vigor house: captain Matteo Caroli had arrived in Matelica in 2020 right after wearing the Senigallia jacket in the first part of the season then interrupted by the explosion of the pandemic.
