VIDEO AND AUDIO ⟩ Latvian “bomber” Krollis talks about the triumph in the Premier League, cooperation with Ivo Lakuča and the passions of the World Cup

The head coach of the team, Jurgis Kalns, publicly gives the impression that he is more of a friend to the players than a boss.

“There was no previous approach that the coach is somewhere higher than the player. There are coaches, there are players – and we are all together. Of course, on the field, the players listen to the coach, who has the final word. In our free time, we had everyday conversations about life, which increases trust in coaches and improves mutual relations.”

“Valmiera FC” had several players from Senegal, Japan and Ukraine this season, and one of the leaders, Camilo Mena, is from Colombia. Krollis admits that it was very interesting to learn a lot about the culture and customs of other countries.

“I thought it was interesting that [Daisukem] Yokot’s favorite food in Japan is cow’s tongue. Senegalese have interesting costumes and I was given one. I haven’t worn it in front of the public yet, but maybe one day I will,” Krollis said.

Foreign clubs have been showing interest in the young Latvian footballer for a couple of years now. In an interview with TVNET in the summer, national team player Vladislavs Gutkovskis said that coaches in Poland had asked him about Krolli. Most likely, Krollis will not play in the Premier League next season, taking a step forward in his career.

“I’m ready and I want to try to play at the next level. I don’t see how me and the team could surpass what we did this year. If there is an offer that satisfies both me and Valmiera FC, then I think there will be no problem and I will go to the next level,” said Krollis.

“We have talked with the agent and the owner of “Valmiera FC” that the next step should be taken carefully. The difference between the level of the Latvian and Top 5 leagues is, however, cosmic, it is difficult to jump on the train there. The steps forward must be gradual. Playing time is very important. That’s why I told the agent – the most important thing is to give me a chance, the rest depends on me whether I will use it. That is my only attitude – to give me a chance. If I don’t take that level, then I don’t take it.”

The Latvian footballer did not hide which teams he sympathizes with in the World Cup. Watch the video or listen to the audio and find out Kroll’s prediction – which national team will become the world champion in Qatar?
