VIDEO ⟩ Qatari players score their first goal in PK history, but lose to Senegal

Senegal won 3-1 (1-0).

Boulaye Dia, Famara Djediu and Shek Dieng scored for Senegal, while Muhammed Muntari scored for Qatar.

The Senegalese had the territorial advantage in the game, and Ismail Sarra’s shot was neutralized by the Qatari goalkeeper Meshal Barsham in the 30th minute.

The home team could also score the first goal. In the 34th minute, Akram Afif fell in the Senegalese penalty area after a collision with an opponent, but the Spanish referee Antonio Mateu did not go to watch the video replay.

After the missed 11-meter kick, the home team started making mistakes in their own half of the field, and one of the mistakes led to the loss of a goal.

In the 41st minute, Bualem Huhi missed the ball in his penalty area, trying to kick it further. Bulaje Dia was the first to reach it, sending it into the goal from close range – 1:0 for Senegal.

In the 48th minute, the score became 2:0. After a corner kick from the right side by Izmail Jacobs, Famara Djediu scored a goal with a header, sending the ball into the left corner of the goal area from the right corner of the goalkeeper’s area.

In the 67th minute, Eduars Mendī saved the team from losing a goal, Ismaëls Muhamed hitting the goal in the left corner, and the ball hit the ground.

In the 78th minute, after a pass by Ismaël Muhammed, Muhammed Muntari, who had entered the field four minutes earlier, scored Qatar’s first goal in the World Cup finals, making it 1:2.

The Qataris attacked, but in the 84th minute Iliman Ndiaye passed the ball from the right to the middle of the Qatari penalty area in the counterattack, and in the 74th minute Shek Dieng, who entered the field, hit the goal irresistibly – 3:1.
