US soccer on Apple TV will cost $14.99 per month

Last June, Apple announced a partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS) to broadcast the next ten seasons of major league soccer, football as we know it in Europe. Apple had warned that there would be free matches for Apple TV + subscribers but that the full subscription would be charged. Apple just announced the details : The MLS Season Pass will launch on February 1, 2023 in over 100 countries and will cost $14.99 per month or $99 per season. For Apple TV+ subscribers, there will be a discount of $12.99 per month or $79 per season. The prices in euros have not yet been communicated.

Matches will be broadcast with commentary in English or Spanish, and matches involving Canadian clubs will also be commentated in French. Apple will broadcast the full matches and there will be recap shows as well as post-match analysis.

Earlier this year, Apple had already launched the broadcast of Major League Baseball (MLB) on Apple TV+, but at no additional cost (although this is “for a limited time”) and not available in France. Apple’s Sports division is gradually taking shape, with Apple also preparing to launch its own television advertising agency. Other large-scale partnerships are to be expected in the coming years.
