The list of closed roads and prohibitions on the occasion of the Turin City Marathon scheduled for Sunday 6 November 2022

Sunday 6 November 2022 take the Torino City Marathon. The sporting event will take place mainly within the municipal area of ​​the city and will also affect the municipalities of Moncalieri, Beinasco and Nichelino. The start (fixed at 9.00) and the finish of the race are located in Piazza Castello. The expected duration of the event is about 5h30 ‘and the route will be completely closed starting from 8.30 until about 15.00. (READ ALSO: ALL ABOUT THE RACE)

At the time indicated above, the area affected by the race course will therefore be subject to road changes. The race course (CLICK HERE), along which vehicular circulation will be prohibited will be as follows:

Departure from Piazza Castello, followed by via Po, piazza Vittorio Veneto, along Po Cadorna, via Napione, corso Regina Margherita, piazzale Regina Margherita, along Po Antonelli, Ponte Sassi, piazza Pasini, corso Casale, Motovelodromo (internal tour), corso Casale , piazza Borromini, corso Casale, piazza Gran Madre, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele I, along Po Diaz, corso Cairoli, viale Virgilio, viale Mattioli, viale Crivelli, viale Turr, Ciclopista along Po, corso Dogliotti, bridge Balbis, piazzale Muzio Scevola, corso Monterotondo, piazza Zara, corso Moncalieri.

The race it will continue outside the city involving the municipalities of Moncalieri and Nichelino and then returning to Turin from corso Unione Sovietica (Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi), Rotonda del Drosso, corso Unione Sovietica, – piazzale Caio Mario, corso Agnelli, corso Tazzoli, corso Siracusa, largo Nallino, via Nallino, via Guido Reni, via Santa Maria Mazzarello, via De Sanctis, piazza Massaua, corso Francia, piazza Rivoli, corso Francia, piazza Bernini, corso Francia, piazza Statuto, corso England, European Union bridge, corso Matteotti, via XX Settembre, piazza San Giovanni (pedestrian area of ​​the Cathedral), piazzetta Reale and arrival in piazza Castello.

Within the race there will be a non-competitive side event on the distance of 10 kilometers which will start from Piazza Castello at the end of the Marathon and will develop on the same path up to Piazza Vittorio Veneto (coming from Piazza Gran Madre). Follow via Po – piazza Castello via Pietro Micca, via Barbaroux, via xx settembre, piazza San Giovanni, piazzetta Reale and arrival in piazza Castello.

Bridge closures

Total and partial closures of the bridges over the Po river affected by the route are planned:

  • The Regina Margherita bridge will be closed in both directions from 08.30 to 10.30 approximately
  • The Vittorio Emanuele I bridge (Piazza Vittorio Veneto – Gran Madre axis) will be closed to vehicular transit in both directions from 08.30 to 11.00 approximately
  • The Umberto I bridge (Corso Vittorio Emanuele – Corso Fiume axis) will be closed in both directions from 08.30 to 10.15 approximately
  • The Sassi bridge will be closed in the direction of Corso Casale from about 08.30 to 10.00 and can be followed in the direction of Corso Belgio
  • The Balbis Bridge (Corso Bramante – Molinette axis), will be closed towards the hill from 08.30 to 10.45 and can be traveled from Corso Moncalieri towards Corso Bramante (Molinette Hospital)
  • The Isabella bridge will not be affected by the event, therefore it will be open

Some viable axes will be divided and passable in one direction only:

• corso Regina Margherita, section between via Napione – Regina Margherita bridge, will be accessible to the west on the central carriageway;

• corso Casale, from Ponte Sassi to piazza Carrara, will be accessible towards San Mauro Torinese;

• corso Casale, stretch of piazza Gran Madre – corso Gabetti, can be followed in the direction of piazza Borromini with the obligation to turn into corso Gabetti on a pre-hilly itinerary (corso Gabetti, Quintino Sella, Cavalcanti, via Boccaccio, corso Chieri);

• corso Moncalieri, stretch from piazza Gran Madre – piazza Zara, will be accessible in both directions (stretch not affected by the race).

• corso Moncalieri, stretch of piazza Zara – border town of Moncalieri, can be followed in the direction of corso Casale.

• corso Unione Sovietica, it will be accessible in a southerly direction, while in a northerly direction only the cross road will be used; corso Agnelli, corso Tazzoli (north carriageway), via Guido Reni, via Santa Maria Mazzarello and via De Sanctis up to piazza Massaua will also be accessible only in a southerly direction, towards corso Orbassano;

• Corso Francia, Piazza Massaua – Statuto section, can be traveled along the central carriageway towards the west, towards Collegno, and along the cross road towards the east, towards Piazza Statuto.

• the European Union bridge will be accessible in an easterly direction, from corso England to corso Matteotti.

• corso Matteotti will only be accessible in an easterly direction, towards corso Re Umberto.

Recommended paths and criticalities:

  • For those who intend to cross the city from South to North coming from Moncalieri, it is advisable to use the road axes of corso Unità d’Italia, corso Massimo d’Azeglio and corso Moncalieri heading north.
  • To cross Corso Francia from North to South and vice versa, it is advisable to use the underpasses of Piazza Rivoli (road axis Corso Lecce – Trapani) and Piazza Statuto (road axis Corso England – Principe Oddone)
  • For those coming from the hill, towards the city center, it is recommended to use the Isabella bridge (Corso Dante road axis) and the Balbis bridge (Corso Bramante road axis)
  • Corso Orbassano will be closed in the section between Corso Settembrini and Corso Cosenza. For those coming from the South ring road towards the center it is advisable to use another exit

Also the routes of the means of tpublic transport transiting in the area affected by the event will suffer temporary deviations / limitations and / or suspensions.
