Three of the matches that will be played on Tuesday evening in the Badminton League are between clubs that are side by side in the table.

The two bottom teams in the Badminton League face very difficult tasks in the 7th round of the Badminton League.

The promoted KMB2010, who are last and are the only team without a win, take on Skovshoved at home, who, conversely, took over first place after the last round. In the last round, KMB2010 lost the bottom match to Aarhus AB with 2-7, while Skovshoved won by the same number at home against Værløse.

Odense OBK probably don’t have much better chances in their team match. In the last game, they were beaten by Vendsyssel with 0-9. On Tuesday, the Fynboers take on Højbjerg/Via Biler, who admittedly lost first place to Skovshoved, but they are still the only team to have won all their matches. Last season Højbjerg/Via Biler also took a safe 6-3 victory over Odense OBK.

One of the teams that took a step away from the bottom in the last round was Aarhus AB. They got their first win of the season when they won safely at home over KMB2010. The victory meant that the Aarhusians moved up to eighth place. One place above them is Gentofte, who are Tuesday’s opponent. Like Aarhus AB, they have only one win for the season and are trying to get back on track. It may very well be against Aarhus AB, as Gentofte can only look at the match between themselves from last season, which they won 5-4.

Precisely 5-4 are some numbers that Team Skælskør-Slagelse (TSS) knows very well by now. Their last four games have been with those numbers – with three of them being wins. TSS has also developed into a bit of a favorite killer. The three most recent victories have come against clubs that have been above TSS in the table. First it went over Vendsyssel, then Skovshoved and in the last match Solrød Strand. This has resulted in a fifth place for TSS, and on Tuesday they meet the team that is just below them in the table. Værløse, like TSS, is fighting to get into the top 4, which gives access to the Final 4 in the spring. It probably requires them to get back on track after a defeat in the last round at home against Skovshoved.

Two of the teams in the top 4 are Solrød Strand and Vendsyssel. The defending champions come to Zealand with plenty of confidence after the 9-0 victory in the last round against Odense OBK. Solrød Strand, on the other hand, lost to Team Skælskør-Slagelse, but they can be happy that they are undefeated this season at home. The two teams are level in the table with 48 points and are fighting to hang on to Højbjerg/Via Biler and Skovshoved, who have made a small gap in the table down to third place.

This is how the 7th round of the Badminton League looks like:

  • 18.30: Odense OBK – Højbjerg/Via Biler
  • 18.30: Team Skælskør-Slagelse – Værløse
  • 18.30: Aarhus AB – Gentofte
  • 19.00: KMB2010 – Skovshoved
  • 19.00: Solrød Strand – Vendsyssel
  1. round of the Badminton League will be played on Tuesday 21 February.
