With a total of four bronze medals and one silver, BUAP students culminate their participation in the Third National University Student Judo Tournament, which took place from November 25 to 27, at the Autonomous University of Querétaro.
The medalists were Edward Hassan Juárez, from the Stomatology Faculty, second place in the 73 kg Division; Abraham Fuentes López, from the Faculty of Physical Mathematical Sciences, third place in the 60 kg Division; Jaasiel Isai Bolaños Carrasco, from the Faculty of Architecture, third place in the 66 kg Division; Marco Augusto Rivera de la Rosa, from the Faculty of Engineering, third place in the 81 kg Division; and Óscar Alberto Silva Cruz, from the Faculty of Engineering, third place in the +100 kg Division.
In the Third National University Student Judo Tournament, the classification system was by groups of four to five competitors who faced each other in round robin and the best two of each group go to the quarterfinal round; the winners advance to the semifinals and finals, and the losers from the quarterfinals wait for the losers of the semifinals to take out two third places.
On November 25, the weigh-in for all the divisions and branches of the superior category was carried out, while on the 27th the combats for this level were carried out.
