The Rafa Nadal and Barcelona Tennis Foundations create the 'Play All' project

The main objective of this new project is to accompany these minors through regular tennis training and use this sport as a tool for transmitting four positive values: sportsmanship, commitment, camaraderie and effort.

(11-11-2022). The first project of the Rafa Nadal Foundation in the city lands in Barcelona, ​​which will be developed in collaboration with the Barcelona Tennis Foundation and Nike, under the name of ‘Play All’.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation works with the firm conviction that sport and education are tools with enormous transformative power. The Barcelona Tennis Foundation makes access to tennis possible for those minors who live in vulnerable areas of the city of Barcelona. Both entities have launched the new ‘Play All’ project, which will serve children and adolescents in vulnerable situations between 6 and 16 years of age in different neighborhoods of the city of Barcelona.

The main objective of this new project, which is carried out thanks to the support of Nike, is to accompany these minors through regular tennis training and use this sport as a tool for transmitting four positive values: sportsmanship, commitment, camaraderie and effort. .

The collaboration between the Rafa Nadal Foundation and the Barcelona Tennis Foundation stems from the shared commitment to support those who need it most through sport, in this case tennis, complementing their formal education and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the little ones.

During this first year, the Play All project will benefit 80 minors in vulnerable situations in different areas of Barcelona, ​​such as the Raval, Zona Franca and El Carmel neighbourhoods.

Nike supports this project as part of its commitment to promote sport and play to create a more active and equitable future for new generations. Nike’s goal with this program is to break down barriers, promote equal opportunities and help new generations reach their full potential.

María Francisca Perelló, director of the Rafa Nadal Foundation assures that “Thanks to Play All, our first and exciting project in Barcelona in collaboration with Fundació Tennis Barcelona and Nike, we will be able to offer group tennis training to minors from neighborhoods with difficult access to this sport, in addition to working with them on different values ​​of practical way, to contribute positively to their development, accompanying them towards a quality future”

Jordi Cambra, president of the Barcelona Tennis Foundation explains that “the alliance with the Rafa Nadal Foundation for Play All is a step forward in making tennis a more democratic and inclusive sport for children and young people in our city. There is no better way to achieve this than to unite in this project the foundation of the best tennis player in history, the club where she learned the values ​​of sport and a brand as representative as Nike”.

To date, two child care groups have already been opened in the Raval and Zona Franca and in a few days a new location will open in the Carmel area. Barcelona has become the starting point for Play All, the new project that will change the lives of many boys and girls through tennis.
