The Pantoum was sold out for Ariane Roy’s “Le Show Spicial” last Thursday: the dancing crowd was probably delighted to welcome their artist home. The show was described as “spicial” by the singer-songwriter, because it was her first appearance on the boards of the iconic performance hall.

Ariane Roy and her five musicians set the place on fire: it was hot and the compact mass of people only had eyes for the stage. With good reason – the decor was shiny, the energetic musicians and captivating Ariane Roy. Although she released a debut album in February 2022, medium pleasure, she played a few songs from her previous registry. She announced the tunes to slow dance or to brew – indications that the crowd followed with a smile. Compared to the recordings, the music played on stage was definitely punched, especially since Ariane Roy is particularly talented with her audience. It was also a “spicial show” because in the intimate space offered by the Pantoum, where everyone knows or recognizes everyone, Ariane Roy put on a show for her friends, and that frankly made her fun, she said. The artist pulled out all the stops when it came to surprises and welcomed Valence by his side for one song then Lou-Adrianne Cassidy for another, to the delight of the spectators, animated by their contagious energy. .
