The Departmental Games of the Valley continue with their development in four municipalities

After three days of competitions that frame the start of the XXIII Departmental Sports Games, VI Paradepartamentales and Deafdepartamentales in Valle del Cauca, the emotion and high-level competitive spirit is noticeable, characteristic of unique and inclusive jousting, with the realization of the conventional sports and the disability sector in parallel.

13 sports disciplines went into action during this weekend that happened after a majestic inauguration last Friday at the Pascual Guerrero stadium.

Chess, men’s handball, baseball, women’s soccer, boxing, table tennis, judo and road cycling in the departmental ones, while in the paradepartmental ones, visual judo, para-table tennis, intellectual futsal, 7 PC soccer and chair basketball wheel.

In terms of results, the municipalities of Yumbo, Cali, Palmira, Jamundí, Tuluá and Buga begin to climb the top positions in the medal table in sports where they have traditionally been strong, with the aim of dethroning Santiago de Cali, which also If it is the venue, it defends the title achieved in Buenaventura in 2019.

The Games that will last until December 3 have already distributed 49 medals in conventional and 15 in paradepartmental. The competitions are held in the main sports venues of Santiago de Cali such as the Pascual Guerrero stadium, the People’s Coliseum, Diamante de beisbol, chess room among others that have hosted major international events, as well as in the Palmira, Yumbo and Buga.

At the end of the second day of the Valley Games, the Yumbeños have accumulated 12 gold medals achieved in judo and table tennis, while Palmira, who escorts them, has added 10 in road cycling and judo, Jamundí reaches nine with his power in Judo and the Cali delegation have seven gold medals in the table where Tuluá, Buga, Dagua, Buenaventura and Candelaria also have several gold medals out of the 49 that have been distributed in these two days.

For their part, in three days of competition in the Paradepartmental Games, the disciplines of para-table tennis and wheelchair basketball, as well as visual judo finished their tournaments; Zarzal and Yumbo with 5 gold medals lead the table where Cali, Jamundí and Palmira have also won gold.
