the African Open in Algiers will take place on March 18 and 19, 2023

The international tournament “African Open of Algiers” will take place on March 18 and 19, 2023 in the Algerian capital, according to the calendar of the International Judo Federation (IJF). The competition will be preceded by the African Open in Tunis (Tunisia) which will take place a week before, on March 11-12, while the Individual World Championships (seniors) will take place from May 7 to 14 in Doha (Qatar) .

Another important date put forward by the FIJ in the 2023 season calendar, that of the Test-Event of the next Olympic Games summer, scheduled for 2024 Paris, which will take place from August 29 to 30, 2023, also in the French capital. Tournaments Open the Tunis et Open d’Alger will be an opportunity for Algerian internationals to collect points, to improve their National Ranking, as desired by the Algerian Judo Federation (FAJ).

The latter decided, in fact, to set up a Ranking National from this year and to use it as a selection criterion, in view of the important international events to come. The athletes will collect an identical number of points in each of these two tournaments, namely: 100 points for the 1st, 70 pts for the 2nd, 50 pts for the 3rd, 36 pts for the 4th and 26 pts for the 5th.

Concerning I’Open the Tunisthe DTN decided to enter the top two in each weight class. A number called to double in theOpen d’Algerbecause it intends to enter the first four in each weight category.
