After a year not as full as expected, but maintaining the same attitude of commitment and dedication that led him to represent the country in different international competitions, the Cordovan judoka Matías Pilo Lacuadra will be presented this weekend at the National Judo Closing Championship 2022to be held in the Municipal Sports Center of Puerto Piray (Misiones).
Along with Pilo, there will be the other members of the Judo Cruces Team, the team led by coach Nicolás Cruces: Joaquin Tovagliari, Tomás Sosa, Agustín Bustos Fierro and Sergio Alba.

Exactly one year ago, Matías Pilo achieved a double golden podium in this tournament (held in Córdoba) for becoming the cnational champion seniors and cajuniors national champion. That time he said: continue on the path of effort and perseverance”, the motto that always governs his life as a high-performance athlete.
With Pilo’s two golds, the Judo Cruces Team had a total of seven (two golds for Chilean José Jara, silver for Tomás Couzo, and double bronze for Tomás Sosa in 73kg).
This year Matías searched in the Pan American Open in Latin America for the points that would underpin qualifying for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, objective for which he is still in the race. There are still several scoring competitions next year in which the classification can be given.
Immediately, in Misiones, Matías will seek to close the year in a good way, getting on the podiums, to be able to look optimistically at the challenging 2023 from that height.
