The special categories will decide this day (eighth of the first phase) the teams that will participate in the Federation Cup, the best four of each group. There are still places in the air. But, in addition, as a test for the cup event, the weekend brings direct duels between the strongest, such as the double confrontation (junior and cadet) between Real Madrid and Zentro Basket Madrid, the BT-Fuenlabrada junior men’s, the Canoe-Vantage Towers Alcobendas cadet female or Fuenlabrada-Canoe infantile male (in the image, the first leg).

Real Madrid (7-0) and Zentro Basket Madrid (6-1), both already qualified for the Federation Cup as the best in the group, will face each other in a high-voltage clash. In the first leg, the whites demonstrated their scoring power at the Antonio Díaz Miguel (66-116). Movistar Estudiantes will also be among the eight teams in the Cup, which will face the Olympic District, a club that will try to get on the bandwagon of the new competition. With the same balance as the District (1-6), Eurocolegio Casvi also has a difficult time. From the outset, they will have to overcome the Spanish Basketball Academy, which is also playing the pass, if possible overcoming -3 in the first leg (70-73). As in group 1, in group 2 there is also a duel between the two best in the group. The Torrelodones sports center will host a BT-Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in the fight for first place since both are tied for victories (6-1). The first round match could not have been tighter: 81-79 for Fuenla. The upper part of the group is very expensive and so is the fight to enter the Cup. The weekend will decide if Jofemesa Boadilla and Real Canoe end up entering this new format. Both are obliged to win their direct duel and wait for the defeat of Saltium Alcorcón Basket A, which faces the third in the group, Basket Torrejón A.

BT will try to continue consolidating its leadership at home and will look for its eighth victory of the season against an Olympic District that confirmed its presence in the Fed Cup last day. More are played Alameda Osuna College, CB Getafe and Ricopia Funbal Alcalá. Although the complutense have one more victory than their pursuers, that does not guarantee them to be in the Cup if they do not do their homework at home against CB Getafe, one of their direct rivals. So far only three have a place: BT, Movistar Estudiantes and the Olympic District.

Innova-tsn Leganés and Rivas Parque Sureste catch up this Thursday in a very important match to decide third place, behind the first two, Sinergia Real Canoe and Vantage Towers Alcobendas. The Ripenses have an advantage: 61-36 in the first leg. The four teams will be in the Federation Cup no matter what happens on Sunday, when Leganés will receive Alcobendas (with a tight 96-90 in the first round), Real Canoe against Pozuelo and Majadahonda Naranja against Rivas Parque Sureste.

The first two, Real Madrid and Zentro Basket Madrid, meet this Sunday at the Díaz Miguel. The madridistas come into the match with seven victories to their name, the last one by a hefty 123-26 against Torrejón. The rest of the group is very tight. Only one team, Saltium Alcorcón Basket, is out of the Cup, although it will look for a surprise against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. On the other hand, the Basketball Alcobendas A-Basket Torrejón A is a final for the two teams, although to get into the Cup Torrejón needs to come back from 63-96 in the first round.

First and last face each other on this eighth day with inverse figures. Movistar Estudiantes has seven victories, while Villalba Gilmar has yet to win. Together with Estudiantes, Real Canoe and the Spanish Basketball Academy are already mathematically classified for the Cup. Fourth place will go to BT or Edu Sports Tres Cantos A, who will rush their last options against the SBA and Canoe respectively.

This group is one of the most defined in the absence of what happens on Saturday, in the pending match between Movistar Estudiantes and Colegio Alameda de Osuna. The only undefeated team, BT, receives the fifth classified, a CB Ciudad de Móstoles with no chance of entering the Federation Cup. The first four have already done their homework, although Rivas Parque Sureste A, Movistar Estudiantes A and CB Las Rozas A are fighting to share second, third and fourth places.

Real Madrid A and Movistar Estudiantes A have completed a great first part of the season and in this eighth matchday they will seek to continue improving their records before facing each other on Wednesday the 30th. Both face two teams with different interests. Unión Madrileña Tres Cantos, Estudiantes’ rival, seeks to get on the Cup train, while Basket Torrejón no longer has any options. Together with Tres Cantos, BT is the other team with options to play in the Cup, although to do so they must win in Alcorcón and the Tricantinos lose in Magariños.

The first two classified, Real Canoe and Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, will measure their strength on Sunday at El Arroyo. The precedent is found in the first leg where equality reigned on the scoreboard. The minimum 68-65 gave the lead to Canoe. To take it away from Fuenlabrada, it’s worth winning, no matter the difference. Fundal Alcobendas will also be in the Cup, whatever they do against the Olympic District, while CB Las Rozas A and Baloncesto Alcalá will decide the fourth place with a letter on Sunday at Espiniella. In the first leg (in the image) the roceños took it 68-72. Almost everything at stake in a very even group.

The fight to enter the Cup maintains interest until the last moment. Uros de Rivas A (3-4) and CB Ciudad de Móstoles (2-5) will fight for the fourth access place, although the Mostoleñas have a very difficult time after the 73-32 first leg. Real Canoe and BT A, who are competing for second place, are also stuck in the standings (although they already have a guaranteed place in the Cup). The Torresanas march ahead thanks to the very tight 58-56 of the first leg. Finally, the Boreal Tres Cantos Restaurant, last in the table, receives the undefeated Rivas Parque Sureste A.

Everything is defined in this group ahead of the Federation Cup. The first four, Movistar Estudiantes, Vantage Towers Alcobendas, Ricopia Funbal Alcalá CBJA and CB Las Rozas, already have a place no matter what happens in the eighth day that starts on Thursday with the Las Rozas-Alcobendas and Ricopia-Alameda de Osuna matches. As seen so far, Alcobendas and Ricopia start as favourites. The clash between bottom club Distrito Olimpico and leader Estudiantes remains for Sunday.
