Spain begins its journey in the European Table Tennis Championships in Vegas del Genil

Vegas del Genil is ready to host the premiere of Spain in the European Table Tennis Championships. It will do so against Croatia at the Ángela Ortiz Pavilion, where the national team was already training ahead of their debut this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Therefore, everything is ready for Spain to make its debut in the municipal pavilion in a confrontation that can be accessed freely and free of charge until full capacity is reached. Likewise, and as usual, the RFETM will offer the match live by streaming for those fans who cannot come to the town.

Objective: to be in the quarterfinals in Malmö

Thus, the European Team Championship, the largest continental competition for teams, gets under way. The journey in this European event for Spain that begins in Vegas del Genil will continue with a second duel in Baza next Wednesday, December 7 against the Austrian team. The objective of Spain, and of the other 17 teams that make up this group stage, is to get a ticket for the quarterfinals that will be held in Malmö (Sweden) from September 10 to 17, 2023.

To be in that appointment in the Swedish city, Spain must reach the first or second position of group 4, where it has been framed. They will also have options if it is third, but in that case, the Spanish team would be forced to play a second group stage to compete for the remaining places in the final phase. For now, the first touchstone is Croatia and it will be followed by the clashes against Austria in Baza and, already in 2023, again with a visit to these same teams. If Spain is in first or second position, they will have their place guaranteed in Sweden. It all starts in Vegas del Genil.
