Satisfied with the work done in record time (4 months of existence) by the team led by Nicolas Lianza Likwale, Minister Nkonde has pledged to invest more to perpetuate this spirit of winning. With regard to the financial difficulties encountered by the Congolese National Judo Federation (FENACIO) to have a greater number of athletes travel, the Minister promised to plead with the Council of Ministers in order to obtain the support of the government.

Smiling, relaxed and comforted faces, Arnold Dasso Kisoka, African champion in the -60kg senior category for men and Chanceline Sona, bronze medalist in the senior -78kg category for ladies, proudly wore their medals to the patron of Congolese sports.

Note that the gold medal snatched by Arnold is the first of its kind in the history of men’s judo in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Among the ladies, only the German Marie Branser had obtained it twice before renouncing the Congolese sports nationality.
