San Martín suffered a hard fall against Oberá Tenis Club

On the first day of Final 8 of the South American Basketball League, which takes place at the El Templo del Rock stadium, home of Obras Basket, in Buenos Aires, San Martín de Corrientes was widely surpassed by Oberá Tenis Club (OTC), in game valid for the first date of the international competition.

The missionary team was superior to Rojinegro on both sides of the field and was left with a valuable victory by a resounding 78 to 56.

San Martín had a good start but slowly Oberá Tenis Club was leveling the actions and generating mistakes in the Corrientes team that lost associated game in attack and did not have the effectiveness in their individualities to be able to score. This is how the offensive dominance of the missionaries grew, establishing a 12-0 run at the end to get ahead on the scoreboard by 19-7 and in the last play San Martín was only able to score. the first set ended in favor of Oberá Tenis Club by 19-9.

The development of the game was very even and balanced during the second quarter, San Martín had a slight improvement but did not achieve his best level although he was more aggressive and that helped him to iron out the differences with the rival, not only in the game but also in marker.

The red and black team led by coach Diego Vadell won the set in the second quarter by 21 to 16 and retired to the long break five points down on the scoreboard (30 to 35) and with better feelings than the missionary cast.

When the action resumed, the Oberá Tenis Club team continued managing the game, taking advantage of a bad night in San Martín de Corrientes that was not fine in the definition.

Diego Vadell’s team elaborated some plays well but was ineffective when looking for the basket and that prevented him from discounting on the scoreboard.

The representative of the province of Misiones played offensively with ease supported by a game plan that allowed him to cloud Rojinegro, who was far from being the one on other nights and almost without difficulty dominated on both sides of the field, adjusting details so that the team Correntino has no chance of reaction.

With these arguments OTC was left with the advantage of 58 to 47 at the end of the third quarter and achieved a reassuring distance to enter the last 10 ‘.

Upon returning to the playing field, the missionary team handled the game with confidence and withstood the onslaught of San Martín with a very good defense. He played with the nerves and the need of the Rojinegro who had neither sporting nor emotional responses and that is why he fell by a resounding 78 to 56
