Rory McIlroy regains control in Dubai

Co-leader of the tournament after two rounds, with his compatriot Tyrrell Hatton, Matthew Fitzpatrick (70, -2) lost ground during a moving day which Rory McIlroy was able to take advantage of thanks to his rediscovered magic (65, -7). Only two strokes behind the winner of the US Open now, the world No. 1 is back in the race for the final victory of the European Tour.

He can even hope to win this Sunday on the Earth Course, provided he gets Jon Rahm, leader in fusion (7 birdies, no bogey) in -15. On the French side, the day produced no cards under par.
