Riga “Dinamo” wins HS “Riga” in extra time

On Wednesday, Riga “Dinamo” won in the “Optibet” Hockey League (OHL) match in extra time, while in other games Riga “Prizma” and “Mogo”/LSPA units also won success. “Dinamo” won over Hockey School “Rīga” in extra time with a score of 2:1 (0:0, 1:0, 0:1, 1:0) as a guest.

In the second period, “Dinamo” was led by Dominik Matonak, but in the third period, Markus Dyške scored for the home team and tied the game. It took “Dinamo” less than two minutes in extra time to score the winning goal, with Sandim Greenberg on target. The winner’s goal was guarded by Jānis Fecers, who saved 31 shots, while Ralfs Pilsētnieks, at the other end of the field, managed 22 pucks that were sent through the goal he was guarding.

Meanwhile, in another game, the leader of the tournament “Mogo”/LSPA defeated “Hockey Punks” of Vilnius with a score of 6:2 (1:1, 2:0, 3:1) at home. Harijs Shmits stood out among the winners with a hat-trick, who also had one assist, while Aleksandrs Bishkins, Elviss Želubovskis and Mārtiņš Schulcs each scored another goal. Dario Mackevich collected three assists. Tads Kumelėusks scored both goals for the Vilnius team.

Also, “Prizma” beat the hockey players of “Daugavpils Ledus Sporta Skola”/”Dinaburga” with the result 8:2 (2:0, 3:1, 3:1). The victory of “Prism” was secured by Armands Bērzins and Haralds Štrombergs, who scored two goals each, while Lukas Kruglikovs, Kristaps Millers, Elvis Kaimins and Valters Apfelbaums beat the Daugavpils goalkeeper once each. Vadims Vabiščevičs and Edgars Petrovs stood out in the home team with an accurate shot.

The “Mogo”/LSPA team is at the head of the table with 34 points in 17 matches, “Dinamo” Riga has 29 points in 18 matches, and “Zemgale”/LLU team has 24 points in 14 matches. In 15 matches, Hockey School “Riga” scored 14 points, while “City” of Kaunas scored 11 points in 12 matches. Riga “Prizma” has ten points in 14 matches, Elektrēnu “Energija” has eight points in 13 matches, Vilnius “Hockey Punks” has seven points in 12 matches, and “Daugavpils Ledus Sporta Skola”/”Dinaburga” has two points in 15 matches.

This season, nine teams are playing in the league – six from Latvia and three from Lithuania. In the 2021/2022 season, Jelgava “Zemgale”/LLU won their first Latvian championship title, defeating the previous champion “Olimp”/”Venta 2002” in the series with 4-0.
