Real Madrid booked a close victory in La Liga on Thursday evening. Thanks in part to a wonderful goal by Toni Kroos, the ‘Royal’ settled with Cádiz CF: 2-1. Justin Kluivert contributed with a goal and a penalty to Valencia’s 3-0 win over Real Betis. In Italy, Juventus recorded their fifth win in a row.
For a long time there was no problem for Real. A completely detached Éder Militão was able to head in the opening goal at the end of the first half and Kroos made it 2-0 twenty minutes before the end. The German beat goalkeeper Jeremías Ledesma with a beautiful volley after a rejected cross.
In the 82nd minute it became exciting again with the connecting goal from Lucas Pérez, just after Luka Modric had shot wide for open goal. Pérez shot in on the rebound after Thibaut Courtois mishandled a stopable shot. In injury time, Alfonso Espino headed over from close range for low flyer Cádiz.
The hard-fought victory comes at the right time for Real. The team of trainer Carlo Ancelotti lost 3-2 to Rayo Vallecano last Monday and bit itself into Girona in the competition match before: 1-1. Real currently has 35 points, two less than leader FC Barcelona.
Earlier in the evening, Valencia recorded a big win over Real Betis. The home team had come to 1-0 after the break thanks to André Almeida. Shortly afterwards, Kluivert came in. The former Ajax player was floored ten minutes before the end in the sixteen, after which Hugo Guillamón used the penalty.
The final word was given to Kluivert himself, who remained cool face to face with Betis keeper Rui Silva. It was the second goal in Spanish service for the AS Roma mercenary. After fourteen games, Valencia is in tenth place in La Liga. Betis is four places higher

Juventus keeps zero again
At Hellas Verona-Juventus, the winning goal was scored after an hour by Moise Kean. The attacker was lucky: his bet was changed direction. Juventus substitute Alex Sandro was shown red in the final minutes.
After a difficult start to the season, Juventus has got the hang of it. In the past rounds, Torino (0-1), Empoli (4-0), Lecce (0-1) and Internazionale (2-0) have already been set aside without conceding a goal.
Juventus has climbed to fourth place in Italy behind the currently unapproachable Napoli and number two AC Milan. Later in the evening, thanks to 17-year-old Luka Romero, Lazio won 1-0 against AC Monza and passed ‘Juve’.
Hellas Verona, who has lost only one of their previous eight home games against Juventus, is experiencing a dramatic season. The team only won once and already suffered its ninth loss in a row.
