Due to the extreme summer temperatures in Qatar, instead of the usual June and July, the final tournament is being held in autumn for the first time. The title is defended by the French, who won in 2018 as the fourth European team in a row.
The championship will start with a single match on Sunday, and from Monday fans can expect a football match with three and from Tuesday even four duels a day starting at 11.00, 14.00, 17.00 and 20.00 CET.
The main groups will culminate on December 2, with the World Cup final scheduled for December 18. The last time it was played was with 32 participants. At the next world championship in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the USA, 48 teams will already compete.
