praise from the mayor
After Heitersheim’s Mayor Christoph Zachow found out about the successes of the Heitersheim judokas, he wanted to personally congratulate the athletes. So he came to a Friday evening training session and presented the two new German champions Philipp Geimer and Paolo Di Gioia as well as the third of the Sambo World Championships, Salome Steinebrunner, with a voucher for a regional sports shop. Then he looked at the training a bit. At the German championship for the over 30 age group in Hamburg, the two judokas from TV Heitersheim secured titles in their respective weight classes. Steinebrunner won bronze at the World Championships in Sambo (mixture of judo and freestyle wrestling) in Yerevan, Armenia.
