Pilar Jáuregui became world para badminton champion in Japan

Our representative took first place after defeating the Turkish Emine Seckin in the WH2 category in the final.

At the top! Pilar Jauregui was consecrated world para badminton champion and led the Peruvian flag to shine at the 2022 Parabadminton World Cup in Japan.

Our representative won the gold medal after defeating her Turkish rival in the final Emine Seckin by 21-18, 20-22 and 21-17 in the women’s individual category – WH2.

Giuliana Poveda and Rubi Fernandez They were also world champions in the SH6 women’s doubles category. Our athletes defeated the Polish duo Daria Bujnicka – Oliwia Smigiel 21-13 and 21-14.

Peru closed its participation in the Parabadminton World Cup Japan 2022 with five medals.
