Find all the highlights of the World Cup this Monday, November 28.

The strong choice of the day: Onana dismissed from Cameroon

The announcement fell shortly before the match against Serbia: André Onana, Cameroon’s titular goalkeeper, was dismissed for “indiscipline”. After the meeting – 3-3 draw between Serbs and Cameroonians – Rigobert Song reconsidered his decision.

The Inter Milan goalkeeperis set aside in relation to indiscipline. In a group you have to respect the rules, I prefer to preserve the group than the individualities“Explains the coach of Cameroon. “In a group, you need a certain discipline and when you don’t meet the criteria of discipline, you have to take responsibility, actions (…), that’s what was done.»

The good performance of the day: minimum service for Brazil

It was complicated for Tite’s men against the Nati. In a very closed match, Brazil had all the trouble in the world to get rid of Switzerland. A precious 1-0 success for the Seleção thanks to a sublime goal from Casemiro at the very end of the game (83rd).

Brazil struggled but Switzerland never knew how to find the flaw: zero shots on target. A success that sends Neymar’s teammates directly to the round of 16. A draw against Cameroon (Friday, 4 p.m.) would ensure first place in Group C at the Seleção.

The other qualifier of the day: Portugal thanks Bruno Fernandes

Portugal overcame Uruguay 2-0 on Monday night, thanks to a brace from … Bruno Fernandes. In a lackluster match, the Portuguese playmaker unblocked the situation on a cross-shot that Cristiano Ronaldo only touched (54th). The goal is well granted to the current Manchester United player.

At the very end of the match, Bruno Fernandes causes a penalty that he will transform himself since “CR7” is on the bench. 2-0, the break is done (90 + 3). Portugal is guaranteed to see the round of 16 of this World Cup in Qatar. A draw against South Korea (Friday, 4 p.m.) would be enough for Fernando Santos’ men to keep the lead in this group H.

Quote of the day: “Group life is going very well”

Two days before the match against Tunisia, Jules Koundé appeared at a press conference. The French defender, holder against Denmark, discussed many subjects and in particular the atmosphere within the France group and rumors since the departure of Karim Benzema.

«Group life is very important, it’s going very well, says Jules Koundé. The mix of generations is going really well. Everyone can express themselves, laugh, give advice, exchange. The hope of the day: Cameroon and Serbia can still believe it

Spectacular draw between Cameroon and Serbia: 3-3. A result that neither helps nor condemns either of the two teams in this group G.

However, Serbia may have regrets since they were leading 3-1 on the hour mark, in a controlled game. The Cameroonians returned to equality thanks to two goals in three minutes (63rd, 66th).

The two countries each have a point in this group G, but can still hope for qualification in the round of 16. To qualify, Serbia will have to beat Switzerland. The task seems impossible for Cameroon who will have to beat Brazil, before looking at the result between Serbs and Switzerland.

The good result of the day: Ghana revives

In a game full of twists and turns, Ghana managed to defeat South Korea 3-2 and completely revived in this group G. The Black Stars then took advantage of the draw in the first match between Uruguay and South Korea. South to take second place in pool with three points.

A victory against Uruguay (Friday, 4 p.m.) would ensure qualification in Ghana. A draw could be enough.

The “Superman” of the day: messages to convey

Shortly after the break in the Portugal-Uruguay match, a man burst onto the pitch. Dressed in a T-shirt bearing the image of the superhero, this spectator wanted to send several messages.

Inscriptions «Save Ukraine» et «Respect for Iranian Womanwere written on the jersey of the man, who waved a rainbow flag, a symbol of the LGBT+ community, on the lawn of Lusail Stadium. He was then stopped by security.

The spectator entered the lawn in the 51st minute of the Portugal-Uruguay match. Panoramic.
