Nierga, the little one from Peralada, is on his way to being “the Incredible” again

Marc Nierga is what is known in football as a worker of the goal. One of those strikers who never stops pressing and fighting for every ball and who, when he has opportunities, rarely forgives. A man trained inEF Garrotxaforged in the planter of theEspanyolwhich has passed through the subsidiaries of ZaragozaHealth, Granada i Deportivo de la Coruña and that he has earned his living mainly the old-fashioned way Segona B with guijuelo, LleidaOlot, langreo, Ebro, Calahorra o Algeria reaching to touch the Professional Football League with thealcorcon (2015-16). A quadriceps muscle injury that got more complicated than expected led him last year to leave Alzira and come to Peralada to recover well and start the new exercise “quietly”. The decision could not have gone better for the striker the Canewho last Sunday made a hat-trick al Its and that’s it Third with six goals.

Some numbers that have allowed Nierga, 30 years old, to regain his smile, and he wants to do great things with Peralada. “For the squad, we have a good mix of youth and veterans who can give a lot of battle. We concede too many goals, but we have a lot of room for improvement. We are at the top and the goal is to play the play-off», he assures. For that to happen, Nierga will have to continue to see the door as he has done so far this beginning of the season. At the moment he has six, but he is confident of reaching the number that the coach has asked him Miquel Ángel Muñoz. “I don’t like to set a number, but he told me I had to do 15 and hopefully I’ll get there,” he says. Against Tona he made three and, in return, he took the ball home, with the consent, of course, of the equipment manager Pep Genís. “I still need a player to sign it for me, but I’ve already made room for it in a room I have with trophies,” he explains. It had been almost eight years since Nierga had scored three goals in a game. The last time was in Segona B, with Guijuelo (14-15) in a match against owl. That year he reached 14 and was fifth in his Second B group behind men like Linares (Oviedo) o Borja Iglesias (Celta B). The streak at Guijuelo made the Castilian fans call him the Incredible and he had to live with this nickname for quite some time. “I didn’t play much and it happened that I scored three goals in a row against Coruxo. It was the first nickname they gave me and it echoed for several years… Now it’s gone a bit out of fashion”, says Nierga who emphasizes that “if you don’t score many goals in a year, people forget about it fast”. However, the garrotxí is open to receive new qualifications. “Hopefully more will come out because it will mean I’m scoring goals.”
