NFL: Marcus Jones wins Patriots with 84-yard punt return

Marcus Jones Could hardly have picked a better time to score the first touchdown of the year on a punt return.

With only twenty seconds remaining in a 3-3 match against the New York JetsJones scampered for 84 yards and gave the New England Patriots a dramatic 10-3 victory on Sunday.

By the time they entered the end zone, only five seconds remained on the clock, leaving the Jets with almost zero chance of tying the game.

The Pats are now tied with the Jets for third in the American East Division with records of 6-4, one game behind Buffalo and Miami at 7-3 apiece.

In addition to winning his club, Jones ended a streak of 537 punts without a return for a touchdown, after ten weeks of activity in the Goodell circuit.

The two young quarterbacks involved in this clash, Mac Jones et Zach Wilsonboth struggled to make their offense work on a windy day at Gillette Stadium.

Jones completed 23 passes for 246 yards, but fell victim to six sacks for losses of 33 yards.

Meanwhile, Wilson completed just 9 passes for 77 yards, leading to an anemic 3.5 yards per catch.

Wilson was also bullied on the ground four times for losses of 33 yards.
