NBA: A great LeBron James carries the Lakers on the Spurs field

Returning the day before after two weeks of absence, the ‘King’ blackened the statistics sheet for the second duel in a row in San Antonio. With 39 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block, he allowed his team to win after a prolific game (139-143) on Saturday in the NBA, the North American basketball championship.

The Lakers, winners the day before 94-105 with 21 points from ‘LBJ’, seem to be finding their stride. After a disastrous start to the season with 10 defeats for only 2 wins, they have won five of their last six games. They still point to 13th place in the Western Conference (7v-11d).

In the lead in the West, Phoenix had to work but narrowly won against Utah (113-112). The Suns, carried by a huge double-double from Deandre Ayton, 29 points and 21 rebounds, chained a fourth victory in a row, inflicting a 4th consecutive loss to the Jazz. The band of Devin Booker therefore remains first with 13 wins for 6 losses, Utah is 8 (12v-10d).

In a suspenseful match, Toronto took the measure of Dallas (105-100) in the wake of Chris Boucher (22 pts), Fred VanVleet (26 pts) and OG Anunoby (26 pts). The latter made the difference with 12 units in the last twelve minutes. Put under the extinguisher by the defense of Anunoby, Doncic, top scorer of the season with an average of 33.4 points per game, was limited to 24 units (8/15 in shooting). Toronto is 7th in the East (10v-9d), Dallas 11th in the West (9v-9d).

Finally, Houston, last in the West, lined up a second victory in a row, a first since March, largely beating Oklahoma City (118-105) thanks in particular to 28 points from Jalen Green. The Rockets still remain in 15th place (5v-14d) while the Thunder are 12th (8v-12d).
