Justice hunts Boateng’s bodyguards

München – They guarded soccer world champion Jérôme Boateng (34) during his appearances in court – now the security itself has trouble with the law.

The Munich public prosecutor’s office is investigating four bodyguards, among other things because of “violation of the most personal sphere of life”.

What’s behind it? Boateng’s security guards are said to have filmed a witness entering the court. The woman who testified against Boateng burst into tears and felt threatened by the security guards (BILD reported).

Anne Leiding, spokeswoman for the Munich I public prosecutor, to BILD: “These are administrative offences. But it is not acceptable for witnesses to feel threatened in court.”

Now the judiciary is taking action: cell phones were confiscated, which are still being evaluated. At the same time, searches were carried out in Hamburg, Brandenburg and Lower Saxony. After the searches, the public prosecutor’s office questioned the head of the security company.

But that’s not all: the Munich trade office and the main customs office also intervened. They check whether the security staff actually have the necessary prerequisites to protect life. Irregularities have already been identified with three security employees.

And Jerome Boateng? Spokeswoman Leiding: “We do not assume that Mr. Boateng was in any way involved in the incidents on the fringes of the process.”
