Iwanbanaran.com – Caakkk… Valentino Rossi’s racing team, Mooney VR46 Racing Team has decided to maintain the Ducati Desmosedici GP22 and will not replace it with the Cacak GP23. The team admits that they are satisfied with the performance of the Desmosedici motorbike which has led Marco Bezzecchi to become the 2022 MotoGP Rookie of The Year. Therefore, Valentino Rossi’s team will not rely on GP23 in the 2023 MotoGP event.

Please note, this year each Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider uses two different Ducati Desmosedici. Luca Marini relies on the GP22 like the Ducati Lenovo Team and Pramac Racing. But it’s different with Marco Bezzecchi who rides the Ducati GP21. They have their own reasons not to keep the Ducati GP22 because they have led Francesco Bagnaia to become world champion this season. Uccio Salucci as the Director of the Mooney VR46 Team revealed that the GP22 had experienced an increase after being tested at the Valencia test. The improvement is felt in a smoother transfer of power…

“At this time, we have received a World Champion bike for Marco Bezzecchi. Our riders tested the Ducati GP22 at the Valencia test, they were happy because there was an improvement. In particular, a smoother transfer of power, something that Luca Marini lacked in the 2022 season. We started on the right foot and are very satisfied when we think about 2023, “said Uccio Salucci via speedweek. Ducati has made improvements to the GP22 that managed to deliver Pecco to the world championship. And currently, the Mooney VR46 Racing Team has four GP22 units to face MotoGP 2023. Uccio then said that having an identical motorbike would make it easier to develop motorbikes in the MotoGP Paddock…

“For the 2023 MotoGP season, we have two GP22s and have decided not to use the factory bike we currently have in the pits with Luca Marini. We planned it that way, to continue the work started this year, but also to have four identical bikes in the garage so the team can work more purposefully and take advantage of each other’s data. When Pecco Bagnaia had some problems with the GP22 at the start of the year, Ducati made improvements so that their world champion motorbike cannot be compared to the one used by Marini in 2022,” concluded Uccio Salucci….(RA iwb)
