Mischa Zverev gives news of her brother Alexander Zverev

Mischa Zverev reveals that Alexander Zverev is slowly increasing the frequency of his training as he prepares to play his first tournament since Roland-Garros.

After tearing multiple ligaments in his French Open semi-final match against Rafael Nadal, Zverev was ready to return to competition in September.

Then, he suffered from bone edema and indicated that his 2022 season was over. Zverev, who returned to the training ground last week, is due to take part in two exhibition tournaments in December – the World Tennis League and the Diriyah Tennis Cup.

“We were able to train last week. On Monday we were even able to play a bit longer. So far he has no pain and feels good. He just needs a few matches before the big season .
Since the big game against Nadal – which unfortunately ended bitterly – he hasn’t been able to play any game.

That’s why we signed up for a few exhibition tournaments. Practice sets at home without an audience is something else. So you have to be on the pitch, against a top player, with ball boys and referees to feel the adrenaline again.”

“What do you do when the score is 30-30? How do you behave on the second serve? He has to test himself again. Just like his foot. In Australia he wants to start in the United Cup. Of course he doesn’t don’t want to miss it,” Mischa told Eurosport Germany.

Zverev ready to return to competition in Saudi Arabia

From December 8 to 10, the Diriyah Tennis Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia. Zverev, a 2020 US Open finalist, will be among the participants.

Previously, Zverev participated in the inaugural edition of the Diriyah Tennis Cup in 2019. In his statement, Zverev said he was happy to return to Saudi Arabia. “I’m happy to finally be back on the court after my injury.

It’s even nicer that I can make my comeback before the official start of the 2023 season. I think the Diriyah Tennis Cup offers a very good opportunity for that and I’m looking forward to being in Saudi Arabia,” Zverev said. in the tournament press release.
