Mario Götze and Kevin Trapp in World Cup form

Kevin Trapp: In World Cup form: Unemployed up to the 40th minute, then with amazing saves from Burkardt’s header and Onisiwo’s margin. But that didn’t save Eintracht, because Burkardt still made it 1-0 in Mainz’s third attempt. Kept Eintracht in the 55th minute with a foot save against Barreiro.

Total: Completely beside himself in the first half. Coach Glasner tried to wake up the Brazilian loudly, but it didn’t help. Disoriented, phlegmatic. Once grabbed, he was too late and saw the yellow card. Improved after the break.

Kristijan Jakic: Hectic, overwhelmed with high balls, just before the break with a dropout that almost led to a goal. But at least the Croatian fought back tooth and nail. Substituted at half-time.

Evan Ndicka: Not sovereign either, but with fewer bad scenes than his companions.

Dina Ebimbe: Active thanks to its dynamism, but with little structure. Brought about the great chance to make it 1-1 with bravura – and hastily missed it.

Djibril Sow: Mainz also sometimes swept over the Swiss national player. He was able to calm down the Frankfurt game at least from time to time.

Daichi Kamada: Game intelligence always helps: two or three good passes to the top, but also defensively without sufficient resistance against the furious Mainzer.

Ansgar Knauff: Totally limited to defensive duties. Saved once in dire need. Offensively invisible.

Jesper Lindström: Overplayed, some wrong decisions when he had space. On his promising first-half solo, he refused to finish because he was hoping for an even better shooting position, and then stalled.

Mario Götze: One anchor for nine storm-tossed boats was not enough in the first half. Was able to provide support for a few moments, but did not calm the waves. As Mainz slacked off in the second half, the World Cup driver blossomed. Magic pass to Kolo Muani to his equalizing goal and other exciting actions that national coach Hansi Flick can look forward to at the World Cup.

Randal Colored: Initially largely unsubscribed from Hack, but with isolated strong scenes. Bell could only be stopped with a foul, but the television pictures turned the hoped-for penalty into a free-kick, which Lindström put into the wall. Stable and robust with its equalizer.

Hrvoje Smolcic: Moved into the center of defense for Jakic in the 46th minute and concentrated on the matter. Mistakes were limited to him in the game structure.

Sebastian Rode: Not as impressive as against Sporting Lisbon after he entered the field in the 59th minute, but with a similar effect on the Frankfurt game. Stabilized the defensive midfield, brought clarity to the build-up.

Luca Pellegrini: Replaced Knauff and was more present than its predecessor. He seemed rushed when he shot.

Lucas Alario: Another second occurrence for the stats.
