Killian Hayes and Theo Maledon do the job

We’re going back to the basics this season! Every Sunday you will therefore find here everything you need to know about the French in the NBA, so as not to miss anything of Killian Hayes’ triple-singles or the new life of Rudy Gobert in his pack of Wolves. This week ? Roller coaster for Killian Hayes, three disturbing letters for Evan Fournier, Rudy Gobert still dominating and Théo Maledon who takes the chance where it is.

# RUDY GOBERT

It was all going well for the Wolves with something like four straight wins, then Rudy and his Wolf pals bowed out against the horrendous Hornets armada. Our French pivot for his part did not have much to blame himself for over the period, we can simply note that Anthony Davis is coming back to blow hard in the neck in the ranking of the best rebounders in the League.

  • Wolves vs Heat: 4 points at 4/4 in throws, 9 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in 31 minutes
  • Wolves @ Pacers: 21 points at 9/11 shooting and 3/4 throwing, 16 rebounds and 2 assists in 32 minutes
  • Wolves @ Hornets: 17 points at 6/10 in shooting and 5/5 in throws, 17 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 against in 34 minutes

# NICHOLAS BATUM

Two small games this week for Old Nic, and the Clippers who have to deal with the fragile health of their star duo. The experience of the Frenchman and a few others (Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris…) allows the Californians to hold on for the moment, but as long as half of Kawhi’s pay slips to Nico, what do you think? ?

  • Clippers vs Jazz: 7 points at 3/5 shooting including 1/3 from the parking lot, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in 25 minutes
  • Clippers vs Nuggets: 0 point at 0/3 parking, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks in 24 minutes

# FRANK DOESN’T PLAY

Incredible statistical production, worthy of that of Lucas Hernandez in Qatar.

  • Mavericks vs Nuggets : DNP
  • Mavericks @ Celtics: 2 rebounds in 2 minutes
  • Mavs @ Raptors : DNP

# KILLIAN HAYES

Big worry on Wednesday when Kiki didn’t come back from the locker room due to ankle discomfort, but two days later on the Phoenix side… it was much better. Still a lot of disparities in performance but confidence seems to have returned (18 shots on Friday!). To see when Cade Cunningham will be back with a very likely return to the bench, but today still no Cade so we take what we are given.

  • Pistons @ Nuggets: 9 points at 3/9 in shooting including 1/5 from the parking lot and 2/2 in throws, 1 rebound and 9 assists in 28 minutes
  • Pistons @ Jazz: 2 points at 1/5 shooting, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 17 minutes
  • Pistons @ Suns: 17 points at 7/18 in shooting including 1/4 from parking and 2/2 in throws, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals in 38 minutes

The Frenchman reappeared in the NBA roster last night in Houston, but it was difficult to find the rhythm after having frequented “la B” and faced Nate Pierre-Louis and Sylvain Jeanpierre for two weeks in the G League. We want to see him more but the pool of Thunder is deep, it’s up to him to prove himself but if there’s no rush.

  • Thunder vs Knicks : DNP
  • Thunder vs Nuggets : DNP
  • Thunder @ Rockets: 0 points at 0/4 from the parking lot, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 21 minutes

# THEO MALEDON

Still no logic in Theo Maledon’s season, which chained matches on the bench, flavorless matches and big performances. When Théo is in it, on the other hand, one wonders in what world it is possible that he does not play 15 minutes minimum EVERY night, especially in a franchise whose results do not matter this season. How is it that you transform a two-way contract into a fixed-term contract?

  • Hornets @ Wizards : DNP
  • Hornets vs Sixers: 4 points at 2/6 shooting including 0/1 from the parking lot, 3 assists and 2 steals in 16 minutes
  • Hornets vs Wolves: 14 points at 4/7 in shooting including 1/1 from the parking lot and 5/6 in throws, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 26 minutes

# MOUSSA DIABATE

Moussa is SALE in the G League, but given the level offered (defensive intensity in particular), we sometimes think that even our aunt could do the same. Pretty incomprehensible not to see him with Tyronn Lue’s band, but something tells us it might be soon.
