Finally, the mayor of Toyooka gave a congratulatory address to Mr. Sato.

[Comment from Mayor Takeshi Toyooka]
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on being commended by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as an “International Competition Outstanding Player”. I think that I was able to acquire the wonderful results so far because I practiced hard and gained strength. And I think that there was support from many people until then, but I think that Mr. Sato was the most grateful for it.
I heard that you teach judo to children with disabilities. Judo is a sport that begins and ends with a bow, and I believe that children who grow physically and mentally through play can gain confidence. Thank you for your support of children with disabilities. Please keep up the good work.

[Comment from Masaki Sato]
I am very happy to receive this award. I am grateful for the support of my parents, although I have worked hard to overcome all the hardships I have experienced so far.
In addition to competitions, we hold judo classes for children at the gymnasium in Susono City. By interacting with various people through the classroom, we are trying to create a classroom that everyone can enjoy, thinking that it is okay to be different. I hope that children will learn the importance of judo’s “rei” while having fun, and that they will be able to respect their opponents and develop a strong and kind heart.
