President Andrea Agnelli, in office for twelve years, and the entire board of directors of Juventus resigned on Monday at an extraordinary meeting, as announced in a press release from the club. These hasty departures coincide with the recent opening of an investigation by the Turin prosecutor’s office aimed at going through the accounts of the Piedmontese club.
In the wake of Agnelli, in office since May 2010, his vice-president Pavel Nedved, the CEO Maurizio Arrivabene, as well as Laurence Debroux, Massimo Della Ragione, Katryn Fink, Daniela Marilungo, Francesco Roncaglio, Giorgio Tacchia and Suzanne Keywood. During this extraordinary meeting, Maurizio Scanavino was appointed to the position of General Manager. The latter, 49, has worked in the automotive sectors for the Fiat group, consulting and publishing. The resigning board of directors will however continue its activities until the general meeting of shareholders convened on January 18, 2023. On this date, a new board of directors should be formed.
If tremors are felt at the level of the governing bodies, the Bianconeri have not been going strong either sportingly in recent months.
