Juan Felipe Aguirre reinforces the defense of Atlético Nacional

Atlético Nacional decided to play it for a central defender with a past in its minor divisions. Juan Felipe Aguirre joins coach Paulo Autuori’s team after reaching an agreement with the current FPC champion and completing his cycle with Montevideo Wanders of Uruguay, where he played more than 30 games in the season that is about to end.

“Home again”published the Paisa institution on Twitter along with a video that evokes those early years as purslane at the beginning of his career and that later shows him touring the Guarne sports venue, where he said he was “very happy to return home.”

The player born in Medellín, who belongs to the same generation as Sebastián Gómez and Brayan Rovira, began his professional career at Leones, a club with which he played between 2016 and 2018. Subsequently, he made the leap to international football in 2019 with his move to Celaya in Mexico to play for three seasons in the Expansion League, in the second division.

In 2021, Aguirre joined Uruguay’s Montevideo Wanders, with which he had an important continuity. This year he added 2,694 in the Uruguayan league and 468 in the Copa Sudamericana. In total, he played 37 games, 35 of them as a starter.

Nacional had already announced the arrival of Brazilian striker Francisco Da Costa, from Bolívar de La Paz, who will begin his cycle as purslane on January 3 with the preseason. The confirmed departures are Andrés Andrade, Daniel Mantilla and Alexander Mejía. The renewal of Argentine Emmanuel Olivera is still pending, while Jéfferson Duque, Sebastián Gómez and Cristian Castro Devenish have already extended their contract.
