Hero Cup: Victor Perez selected for the continental team

European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald has announced the 18 players who will make up the Continental Europe and Great Britain & Ireland squads for the Hero Cup (formerly Seve Trophy) in Abu Dhabi from January 13-15 .

In consultation with the respective captains of this Hero Cup, Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari, Donald has confirmed the squads for next year’s match play at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, with a remaining position for each team to be allocated at the end of the calendar year of the DP World Tour.

Donald and Molinari have built a strong team of multiple tournament winners, with Sweden’s Alex Noren and Belgium’s Thomas Pieters bringing their Ryder Cup experience to the continental European ranks.

Baptism for Straka and Meronk

Molinari’s squad will be complemented by a series of young players inexperienced at this level, including Austrian Sepp Straka, who won his first PGA Tour title at the 2022 Honda Classic, three-time European winner Rasmus Højgaard, or Adrian Meronk, first Polish player to win on the DP World Tour when he won the Irish Open in 2022.
