This Sunday, the ninth departmental tournament of the ASPTT Gaillac badminton took place in the Pichery gymnasium. 32 doubles teams were present, most playing in the league, and a few leisure teams. They clashed throughout the day, in a very relaxed atmosphere. Note the arrival of players from neighboring departments, Aveyron and Haute-Garonne, which confirms the attractiveness of our tournament, to the point of not being able to register eleven other teams waiting.
Once the matches started, thanks to the conviviality that prevailed despite the competition.the day went very well. The level of the tournament has gone up a notch according to the participants and some tournament regulars. This did not prevent very tight matches, and some physical glitches. The lunch break was animated by the arrival of 24 majorettes who gave us two exhibitions in the gymnasium in front of the players who were delighted by this attraction. Visitors and accompanying persons came to support the players.
In the afternoon, closer matches for the players from the pools made the tournament last and finally revealed the finalist teams.
The players of Saint Juéry in men’s doubles, once again reached the final, and won it after a very tight match.
