Feliciano López will return to Luanco in 2023 to participate for the sixth time in the Beach Tennis Tournament. The tennis player from Toledo will thus become the second player with the most participations in the tournament after Juan Avendaño, who totaled twelve.
Always faithful to Luanco, López has not hesitated to accept the invitation to participate in the tournament in which he made his debut in 1999, at the age of 18, and which he won in 2007 by beating Félix Mantilla in the final. In the last edition he reached the final, which he lost to Pablo Carreño.
Feliciano plans to retire in the next Conde de Godó and then he will go to Luanco in July to say goodbye to the fans in this tournament.
In addition, the last winner of Beach Tennis, Pablo Carreño, has expressed to the organizing committee his interest in participating in the next edition, in what would be his fifth participation, although he informed that he will not be able to commit until after the first quarter of 2023, depending on their results in the ATP circuit.
With a tremendously generous attitude, Carreño prioritized participation in Luanco in 2022 in October 2021 over any other option. In this way, he demonstrated great commitment and interest in recovering a tournament in which he had already participated three times, the first time in 2007 when he was just 17 years old.
