Atlanta suffered the wrath of Joel Embiid on Saturday in the NBA.
The Hawks lost 121-109 on the floor of the Sixers, who forced the decision thanks in particular to the 42 points and 10 rebounds of their Cameroonian star.
Beaten 104-95 Thursday night in Atlanta, Philadelphia took a nice revenge. The Sixers notably knew how to perfectly stretch the Hawks defense by bringing Clint Capela out of his comfort zone, the racket. Joël Embiid took full advantage of this, also managing 6 assists (as well as 2 interceptions and 2 blocks).
The Hawks also dominated the debates under the panels (43 rebounds to 31) thanks in particular to the 15 catches of their Geneva interior, author of 14 points on Saturday (at 7/9 shooting). But they were sorely lacking in skill behind the arc (6/24 from 3 points) and above all ‘offered’ 34 points to the Sixers with their 19 ball losses.
Led by 27 points in the middle of the third quarter (89-62), the Hawks found the resources to pick up six lengths from Philadelphia at 2’28” from the final buzzer (113-107). But the Sixers managed the end of the game perfectly to inflict on Atlanta a 5th defeat in 13 games this season.
