Ekiden de Paris: why this relay marathon motivates runners

The morning calm of the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont (19th century) this Monday of the long All Saints weekend is only disturbed by a few walkers with their dogs, municipal agents busy moving the garbage cans of the place and a few runners. Among them, a trio is busy chaining the loops via one of the climbs that attract runners to this green space in the northeast of Paris. “Doing rib work together is more fun because you go further in your effort than if you were alone,” says Maxime, a 40-year-old Parisian.
