Both teams represented by Latvians celebrated their victory in the Romanian championship. Kristaps Schmidt Arcada of Galacas beat CSM of Constanta 3-0 (25:21, 25:20, 25:23). Schmidt went on court in the second set, scoring one point on six attacks. On the other hand Edwina Schroeder “Rapid” from Bucharest defeated Cluj-Napoca “Universitatea” 3-0 (25:21, 25:20, 25:23). Edwin played the first two sets as a substitute, winning a point on serve. In the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Cup, Arcada Galatsia won the first 1/16 final game at home, defeating Neftohimik Burgas 3-1 (25:16, 24:26, 25:17, 25:21). Second leg on Wednesday in Bulgaria.
Portugal’s championship victory was celebrated at home Tom Švan represented by “Sporting” from Lisbon, which defeated “Caldas” 3-1 (25:20, 25:18, 22:25, 25:16).
