Due to the unfortunate incident, he was not able to play the entire final, although he gave his best throughout the tournament.

In the first round she defeated the American Srivedya Gurazada (23-21 and 21-12), as well as in the round of 16 she overcame the Mexican Vanessa Maricela Garcia Contreras (21-11 and 21-16). On the other hand, in the quarter-finals, she prevailed over the American Disha Gupta (21-12 and 21-14) and in the finals, Azurmendi beat Buhrova in three sets (21-8, 19-21 and 21-19).

In this last round of the fight for the gold, the Donostia faced the Japanese Sugiyama. But unfortunately when the score was 13-15, Azurmendi had to cancel the match.

In addition to playing in the individual competition, Clara also played in the doubles tournament together with Bea Corrales in Lima. In the first round, the duo won a solid victory against the sisters Fernanda and Rafaela Munar (21-7 and 21-11). In the quarterfinals, Paula Lynn Cao Hok and Lauren Lam lost to the Americans (27-25 and 21-17). The people from Donostia and Madrid have finished their participation in the group stage with good feelings.

After surgery for a left foot injury, Azurmendi returned to competitions in October, exactly 120 days after going through the surgery. Since then it has gone through several international championships, such as the Dutch Open, the Danish Open and the French Open.

In the coming weeks, he has two more challenges ahead of him from Azur: the Canada International Challenge that will be played in Markham (Toronto, Canada) from December 6 to 11 and the mixed European team championship (qualification stage) that will be held in Geneva (Switzerland) on December 15.
