Chris Wright will take the helm of Casademont Zaragoza

Chris Wright will reinforce Casademont Zaragoza until the end of this campaign. The 33-year-old North American point guard arrives at the Aragonese club as a substitute for Frankie Ferrari, who has terminated his contract with the Zaragoza team.

Wright completed his training period at the prestigious Georgetown University where he averaged 12.4 points, 4 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. His first European experience came in the Turkish league where he averaged 12.7 points and 4 assists while playing for Olin Edirne. He returned to the United States to alternate the NBA, Hornets and Mavericks, with the development league averaging 16.1 points and 6.8 assists per game with the Iowa Energy.

Wright played last season for the Italian Derthona Basket, where he participated in 28 league games, with records of 11 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per duel (9.9 PIR credits). In the transalpine country he also played for Victoria Libertas in Pesaro (14-15), Varese (15-16), Torino (16-17), Reggio Emilia (17-18) and Trieste (18-19). , always with important numbers in the offensive chapter.

In Europe, Wright also knows the Turkish competition, after passing through Olin Edirne (11-12) and Afyon (20-21); in Poland, with the Torun shirt (19-20); in Israel, in the ranks of Hapoel Holon (15-16), where he participated in four games; and in France, where he had previously defended the colors of Asvel (13-14).

The American is an example of improvement, as he demonstrated when in 2013 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and, just three months later, he signed a contract with Dallas, becoming the first NBA player diagnosed with that disease. 10 years later, that sacrifice has been the hallmark of a long career that will now continue in Zaragoza under the orders of Porfirio Fisac.

“Wright dominates the times that the group needs”, explains the coach of the Aragonese, Porfirio Fisac. “He is a player who always puts the interests of the group before his personal ones, but not only on the field but also off it. He is capable of scoring and defending with guarantees and has experience in Europe at a good level. He is a player who is going to help us with the main needs of the team”, points out the Casademont Zaragoza coach.
