Bundesliga: What Julian Nagelsmann did – and Edin Terzic didn’t | Sports

What Nagelsmann did – and Terzic didn’t

Who would have thought a few weeks ago that Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) would be the big winner after the first phase of the season – and BVB coach Edin Terzic (40) the loser?

The Nagelsmann turn!

“From treble to idiot – everything is still possible for Nagelsmann,” wrote BILD in September after the worst series in 20 years (four Bundesliga games without a win, including 0-1 in Augsburg). Triple is now significantly more likely than chump.

Even if the failure of Müller may be a bit of a fate: Nagelsmann has developed a new dream duo with Choupo-Moting and Musiala (Choupo-Musiala for short) in a very short time. He also focuses on the show taking place on the pitch and not in his press conferences.

Combined with the 100 percent transfer hit rate from sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (45), Bavaria is ready for 2023 – and Paris in the Champions League round of 16. Even without Lewandowski.

The Terzic turn!

“Mentality, championship fight, Moukoko – does Terzic get it all done?” BILD asked after BVB’s two wins at the start.

The answer is: 2x no (master fight, mentality) and 1x yes (Moukoko). Terzic rightly gets hit in the face with two numbers. 6 points less than predecessor Rose at the same time last season. 9 points behind Bayern, which means that the first championship since 2012 is over. Even the vital qualification for the Champions League is currently in danger!

Terzic will not be able to change the fact that young world-class players only see BVB as a transit station. In the summer of 2023, Bellingham is guaranteed to be the next to say: Bye-bye, BVB! And: Hello, Liverpool…
