Budding stained glass artists rewarded

Gellainville. Bonville / Gellainville: Young talents rewarded. An idea, a drawing, a stained glass window, this is the challenge launched by the town hall of Gellainville, in December 2020, to the young people of the town aged 6 to 14 years old. Challenge taken up and materialized, ten months later, by a ceremony organized last week, at the multipurpose hall. In the presence of young people, their parents, many elected officials, as well as Hervé Loire, master glassmaker based in Lèves.

Christophe Leroy, first magistrate, congratulated all the participants and gave them a reward, with in the top three: Matéo Dos Santos, Célia Bougeatre and Sarah Kadoun.

During the initial phase of reflection, the 12 participants had no shortage of ideas to highlight what best reflected, for them, the municipality and its surroundings: the logo of the municipality, the church of Bonville, Chartres Cathedral, wheat, baseball, figured prominently in their choices.

A creative internship in Lèves

This first step was followed by a creation course, at the Loire workshops, in Lèves, which the young people have just experienced during this first week of All Saints’ vacation. Three fun afternoons that they will remember given the enthusiasm with which they describe the know-how they discovered with passionate master glassmakers, and the different stages of making their own stained glass window, which they were able to take away. at home.
