This Sunday at a press conference, Brazil central defender Marquinhos (28 years old, 72 caps and 5 goals) paid a fine tribute to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Paris Saint-Germain player advised football fans to enjoy the two legends.

“I think what happens with these players is that Messi is not Argentinian and Ronaldo is not Portuguese. It goes further than that. They are privileges for football, praised the Brazilian. For people who love this sport, tournaments, competition, these are treasures. They don’t just belong to their respective countries. We all benefit from their presence, from seeing them play. I play with Neymar and Messi, and I take advantage of their presence. Life goes on, other generations will come, but we have to take advantage of them as much as possible.”

Indeed, Messi and Ronaldo are surely playing their last World Cup.
