Bob Bryan and Mardy Fish, sanctioned for violating the betting rule

La International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has informed this Tuesday that it sanctioned the American tennis coaches Bob Bryan y Mardy Fish con four month suspension and has fined them $10,000 “for infringing tennis betting sponsorship rules”.

The suspensions, clarifies the ITIA, do not take effect unless there is a new violation during the four-month period.which began on November 11.

Bob Bryan y Mardy Fish have been sanctioned after recognizing the promotion of a betting operator on social networks. Both “fully cooperated with the ITIA investigation and removed the messages immediately,” the agency says.

Both had been credited as part of the United States Davis Cup coaching team in 2022.which means that they are considered “covered persons” and are subject to the rules of the sport around relations with betting operators.

The ITIA recalls that “section D.1.b of the 2022 Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP) rules establishes that “no covered person directly or indirectly facilitate, encourage and/or promote betting on tennis.”

“Fish and Bryan have also agreed to collaborate with ITIA on education and prevention initiatives to highlight the importance of integrity in the game”states ITIA, an independent body created by the International Tennis Governing Bodies to promote, encourage, enhance and safeguard the integrity of professional tennis around the world.
