Badminton Xàtiva achieves four bronzes in Parabadminton and the senior and absolute tournament

The Club Badminton Xàtiva got four bronze medals last weekend in two tournaments that the club participated. The athlete from the Xàtiva Badminton Club Selenia Pla won the bronze medal in the fifth round of the National Parabadminton Circuit, which was held last weekend in Ourense (Galicia). The setabense competed in the singles and doubles test, getting the medal in the latterafter finishing third, together with José Luis Martín.

In this modality there were changes in the couples and Selenia had to leave her usual partner, Pablo Serrano, and compete with Martín, with whom she got third place on the podium. Individually, she was also forced to compete in the male group, given the absence of female athletes in her category, and the SL and SU groups were also grouped together, enlarging the differences between athletes. The one from CB Xàtiva could not get a pass to the next round.

The other three metals came in the Top TTR Absolute and Senior tournament which took place last sunday in Valencia. The club participated with Santiago Villanueva and José Luis Llopis in the senior category and Maria Sanz in absolute and won three medals.

Maria Sanz got the first bronze, in the women’s doubles, in which he competed with Lucía Chorques. José Luis Llopis rose with the second, in individual C1-C2, after losing in the semifinals against José Belmonte from Murcia by a competitive 21-18 and 21-14. Villanueva also went up to the third place on the podium in the men’s doubles, in which he played precisely with Belmonte. After overcoming the group stage as first, they reached the semifinal, where they lost in an even match, which lasted to three sets (24-22, 20-22 and 22-20).
