Casper Ruud will challenge Novak Djokovic in the final of the ATP Finals in Turin. The Norwegian dominated the semifinal against Andrej Rublev, winning 2-0 with partial scores of 6-2, 6-4 in just one hour and eight minutes of play. “I played one of the best tennis of my life, I didn’t think I could get this far” said a very excited Ruud at the end of the match. Thus the Norwegian will compete for the trophy against Djokovic, the final is scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Pala Alpitour.
Djokovic’s first words at the end of the semi-final that saw him win against Fritz are for the public. “First of all, thank you for coming and for the support – he said -, he felt on the court, especially in the last points of the second set. I hope you enjoyed”. Analyzing the match, “I always ask myself – he said – for a high level and today I wasn’t feeling very well. He has one of the strongest serves in the world, it wasn’t easy to answer, but at the right moments I read what he wanted to do. There was a lot of tension, but in the end I managed to win, I am very happy and proud“.
Finally, thanks to his team and his family, who are present at the matches these days. “Like dad – she said – it’s nice to see my two children with me and my wife, I hope they are happy with what is happening these days. They are always smiling – he concluded – and this gives me great strength to play well on the field”.
